Sometimes just a little mistake in this sport can make you lose the gold fleet. The level on kitefoil racing is growing up, which motivates me to push always harder and train harder.
Getting into Gold was my goal, and I had prepared myself to do so... However, in the only race on the second day of qualifying, my foil got stuck in a buoy that was soggy, resulting in me falling and losing many positions. Then, in hope, I was determined to fight my way back in and accomplish my goal. Unfortunately, the weather didn't help.
Nevertheless, I learned to be on the front in the silver fleet and had a lot of fun. On one of those days, I took out my smallest kite (9 square meters). As I raced against the other girls that day, I reached 36.5 knots on the longest reach.
The Silver fleet proved that I didn't need to be there, that I could be in front and have the speed to lead. After winning the silver fleet, I knew that things would change in 2023.
